# Excel Functions Related to Normal Distributions

NORM.DIST($x,\mu,\sigma,FALSE$)

The height of the normal density function for a normal distribution with mean $\mu$ and standard deviation of $\sigma$

NORM.DIST($x,\mu,\sigma,TRUE$)

The probability that a random variable that follows a normal distribution with mean $\mu$ and standard deviation $\sigma$ will produce a value less than or equal to $x$

NORM.INV($p,\mu,\sigma$)

Returns $x$ so that the probability of a random variable, following a normal distribution with a mean $\mu$ and standard deviation $\sigma$, producing a value less than $x$ is $p$. Equivalently, returns $x$ so that there is area $p$ under the related normal curve and left of $x$
